VIRGINIA WANG
Virginia is the Director of Strategic Insights for Bassett & Partners. Originally from Southern California, she graduated from U.C. Berkeley with degrees in Economics, Psychology and History of Art in 1996. Combining these interests and pursuing her curiosity of people and what makes them tick, Virginia has spent the past 12 years in strategic planning and consumer insights. Through stints at DDB New York, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, MTV and Electronic Arts, she has worked on leading U.S. domestic and international brands including eBay, Hewlett-Packard, Goodyear, Häagen-Dazs, Dreyers as well as the key brands for MTV and EA. This has led to a wide range of experiences--from hanging out in dorm rooms at Georgia Tech to playing Wii with Boomers to foraging through strangers' freezers. As a result of her efforts and insights, Virginia has received both industry recognition through Effie, AAAA Jay Chiat Planning, Peabody awards and the dubious agency recognition as one of the “People Who Don’t Suck.”
After criss-crossing the country a few times between California and New York, Virginia has decided to stay happily put in San Francisco. She speaks broken French, broken Italian, Valley Girl-tinged broken Mandarin and passable English.
